How To Make Fresh Kimchi With Bok Choy Beginner Friendly

Kimchi has always been a big part of my life...it’s the big equalizer in all Korean families. Whether we are laughing or arguing, my family always comes together to prepare kimchi the right way. I prepared a very simple version for all of you to try! Kimchi comes packed with probiotics, a satisfying crunch, and a little bit of heat! • • You know what they say...kimchi a day keeps the doctor away! Apparently it can kick COVID-19's butt too! Hope everyone is being safe out there~ • • Stay chic and healthy. • -Harper • Amazon Links • [FISH SAUCE] https://amzn.to/33Wl0zO • Ingredients • 4 green onions • 500g bok choy • Korean peppers • 1 tbsp salted shrimp • 2 tbsp sesame seeds • 2 tbsp minced garlic • 1 tbsp honey • 3 tbsp red pepper • 3 tbsp fish sauce • 4 tbsp coarse sea salt • 1 tbsp minced ginger • 2 tbsp maesil syrup (plum syrup) • 1 tbsp sweet rice flour (mochiko) • • 1. Boil 1/4 cup water. Add 1/4 cup water and sweet rice flour or normal flour to a small bowl and mix thoroughly. Once the water begins to boil, add the flour mix and stir frequently. Keep the fire at medium high and stir for 2-3min until the mixture thickens into a paste. • 2. Wash and cut the bok choy into 4 pieces. • 3. Place the bok choy into a large bowl and sprinkle the salt over them. Add 2 cups of water to the bowl. Leave it alone for about half an hour. Flip the bok choy to the other side half way. • 4. Julienne the peppers and cut them in half. • 5. Chop the green onions into the same size as the peppers. • 6. Add the red pepper flakes to the paste you made earlier. Add garlic, fish sauce, salted shrimp, grated ginger, honey, maesil syrup to the mix and mix mix mix! • 7. Add the veggies and sesame seeds to the mixture and stir. Add 1 tbsp of water as well. • 8. Wash the salt off the bok choy. • 9. Pour half the sauce mixture into a large bowl. Smother each individual bok choy in the sauce! Make sure to get the sauce on the white portion of the bok choy! • 10.
