This video shows the functionality of NOVACAM BOREINSPECT system rotational scanner (RS2) probe. • RS2, a small-diameter non-contact optical scanner probe, enters into the complex geometrical structures of turbine blades to completely acquire their dimensional geometry, down to the micron. Fully configurable, triple axis scanning capabilities allow the user to set up an automated scanning sequence to capture the entire blade without having to manipulate it. Here, the fiber-based probe carries out an inspection of a stator blade (nozzle guide vane), including the inner surface of the blade, its cooling air holes, and EDM slots. From the 3D view, users can analyze tolerances, set datum alignment, and detect defects. • Benefits of the system: • fully configurable automated scanning sequences • micron-precision measurements of blade surfaces, blade edges • detection of surface or dimensional defects • characterization of all aspects of a turbine blade, including EDM slots and cooling air-holes (control of fan-out angle, etc.) • tolerance analysis, datum alignment capability, and more • 100% user-defined measurement parameters • high-speed surface acquisition (2 to 30,000 points per second) • extremely versatile and robust setup thanks to the fiber-based character of the system. • Inspection applications: • aerospace and power generation industry turbines, turbine blade geometry, leading edge, trailing edge, cooling air holes, cooling slots, blade platform cooling holes, rib turbulators, rotor blades, EDM slots, laser drilling, precision machining, thermal barrier coating, blade platform, diffuser ID roughness • For more information, visit http://www.novacam.com. • Product page: https://www.novacam.com/products/bore...
