This video walks you through unboxing the GoPro Hero 7 Black. • See more videos by Max here: / maxdalton • Video Transcript: • The GoPro Hero 7 Black offers users some great new features, like HyperSmooth, TimeWarp, and the ability to live stream to a variety of social video services -- such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch. But before you can use any of that, you have to perform the initial setup of your device. Thankfully, the initial setup of the GoPro Hero 7 Black is a pain-free experience, and only takes a few minutes. • Now let's walk through the process of setting up your GoPro Hero 7 Black after you turn it on for the first time. • Step 1. Hold down the Mode button along the left edge of the GoPro Hero 7 Black to turn it on. The GoPro will beep, and then turn on. A GoPro logo screen will display for a few seconds, before a Language screen appears. • Step 2. Scroll through the Language screen until you see the language you want the GoPro Hero 7 Black to operate in, and then select your language. In this example, I'll tap English. The Legal Stuff screen appears. • Step 3. Tap Accept to accept the legal terms. The GPS screen appears. • Step 4. Tap either On or Off to choose whether or not you want your GoPro Hero 7 Black to capture the location associated with where your photos or videos are taken. The GoPro app screen appears. • Step 5. Download the GoPro app from the app store on your smart device. In this example, I'll download the GoPro app from Apple's App Store. • Step 6. Launch the GoPro app. A screen will automatically appear informing you that your GoPro has been found. Tap the blue Connect Camera button at the bottom of the screen to associate your GoPro Hero 7 Black with your smart device. The Bluetooth Pairing Request screen appears. • Step 7. Tap Pair to pair your GoPro Hero with your smart device. A Connecting screen will briefly appear while the devices are being paired via Bluetooth. The Change Camera Name appears, displaying a default name for your GoPro Hero 7 Black. • Step 8. Enter a new name for your device if you want to change it, and then tap the blue Confirm New Name button at the bottom of this screen. You'll proceed to the Camera Update Available screen. You can either let the update install, or tap Skip to skip the update and do it later. In this walk through, I'll tap Skip. A screen appears telling you that your Hero 7 is ready. Another Legal Stuff screen appears in the GoPro app. • Step 9. Tap the blue I Agree button to accept the legal terms associated with using the GoPro app. A Send Personalization Data screen appears. • Step 10. Choose whether or not to send personalization data to GoPro. A Never Miss a Moment screen appears. • Step 11. Choose whether or not to allow GoPro to send you notifications on this smart device about new features and updates. You'll be taken to the GoPro QuikStories home screen, where a dialog box will point you to the Menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen that you can tap to connect and control your GoPro Hero 7 Black. Tap the X on the right side of that dialog box to close that message. • Step 12. Tapping the Menu button in the upper left corner of the screen will bring up a screen that lets you see content on your camera, upload content on your camera to GoPro Plus, and more.
