The Knee joint is enclosed in a single joint capsule thats large and encloses both tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints.Its made up of a superficial fibrous layer and deep synovial layer.The fibrous joint capsule is superficial and provides passive stablization to knee complex.The fibrous joint capsule shows several caapsular hickening or ligaments such as: • 1. Extensor retinaculum • 2.Medial and Lateral patellofemoral ligaments • 3.Medial and Lateral patellomeniscal ligaments • 4.Medial and Lateral patellotibail ligaments • 5.
