Rigging and Lifting OffCenter Loads shorts

Lifting loads where weight is not uniformly distributed can be tricky. It is important to find the COG (Center of Gravity) of your load before you lift it. So, how do you find the COG? • 1. Make an estimate. Where do you think the COG is? Attach your pick points accordingly. • 2. Slowly start to take up the slack. Slowly lift your load, just enough so you can see if the load will rotate or tilt. • 3. If your load is unstable, lower the load back down and readjust your pick points. You should move the attachment point toward the load's low point. Make another trial lift. Keep adjusting and making trial lifts until the load is stable. • 4.
