Pakistan's Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) held a ceremony to unveil the first serial production batch of the Haider Main Battle Tank. The event was attended by Pakistan's Army Chief of Staff General Syed Asim Munir. • The Haider is a third-generation tank designed and manufactured entirely in Pakistan. Based on the Chinese VT4 platform, this powerful MBT is armed with a 125mm smoothbore gun capable of firing armor-piercing rounds and anti-tank missiles. • It also has a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and a remote 12.7mm heavy machine gun for additional firepower. Advanced sensors and fire control systems give the Haider exceptional accuracy and targeting capability. • Powered by a 1,200 hp diesel engine and automatic transmission, the tank has a top road speed of 70 km/h and a range of 500 km.
