The victim saw the crime. • Capell drove off in a yellow Mustang east on Alternate U.S. 19. and struck a vehicle. • • Deputies began a short pursuit, but when speeds went over 100 mph, the deputies disengaged. • The suspect continued northbound and at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Gulf Trace Blvd., he lost control and struck Field Training Officer Shannon Henrici's vehicle at approximately 70 mph, deputies said. • The crash was captured on the body cam of Sgt. Scott Schuck, who was in a vehicle behind Henrici. • Deputies said Capell tried to flee the scene on foot, but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and taser deployment. • At one point, Capell told deputies he was sorry. • Sorry? a deputy replies. You almost killed a deputy! • Henrici and Capell were transported to Trinity Hospital for minor injuries. • After his release early Friday, Capell was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, robbery by sudden snatching, burglary of an auto, possession of drugs, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer without violence and fleeing/eluding police. • Bail was set at $55,600. • Pasco County jail records show he has been arrested at least nine times previously, including for weapons possession, drugs, battery and violating probation. • Follow us on Twitter: / police_cams • #Police #Bodycam #Dashcam
