We all learn from mistakes. • Getting things wrong, and learning from failures, helps us grow our brains. • Let's tackle the learning myth that mistakes are bad. • Myth - Learning is all about remembering facts and answering questions correctly • We need to make sure mistakes and failures are valued and we look at them in ways that can help us learn. • Failure friendly classroom: • Students and teachers learn and talk about different types of mistakes • Sloppy mistakes- when we know how to do something but were a bit careless and goofed it up • Stretch mistakes- when we are trying something harder than what we are use to. These mistakes are great moments of brain growth • Mysterious mistakes- when something interesting is happening or a misunderstanding that we need a teachers help with.
