Turn any Windows® computer into a fully-featured PID temperature controller! • Over the past year, I have developed a software-based PID controller and it is now available for sale. I hope you find the video informative, and look forward to answering any questions. • Unlike most PID temperature controllers, where all configuration is done using a few front-panel buttons, the IJ-6 software-based PID temperature controller allows the user to configure everything through an easy-to-use software interface. • Since all control is performed in software, rather than hardware, this results in greatly increased versatility and ease of use. Software features include graphical temperature display, file logging, gain scheduling, relay control and programmable temperature profiles with unlimited segments. • Hardware features: • USB powered • Accepts thermocouple types E,J,K,N,T • Measurement range -200C to +1300C (depending on thermocouple) • Resolution 0.03 to 0.06 degrees • Cold-junction temperature measurement to +/-0.03C • Variable duty cycle output for SSR drive • Two general-purpose relay outputs • Cycle time 1s (time between successive PID cycles) • Full user manual with PID theory, tuning and hardware connections • Software features: • Manual or PID power control • File logging of all parameters • Graphical temperature display • Ability to change PID parameters on the fly with gain scheduling • Manual or programmed setpoint control • Programmable temperature profiles with unlimited segments • Cold-junction compensation using NIST algorithms • Live display of temperatures and power • Manual, temperature, or programmed control of relay outputs • If you have never used a PID controller before, don't worry - the accompanying IJ-7 demonstration module is available along with the controller and enables you to explore the operation of the controller. It features a small thermal block, heating element, alarm buzzer and LED indicators for both heat and alarm. Full examples are provided of initial setup, PID manual control, gain scheduling, relay control, file logging and temperature profile programming. • The IJ-6 controller is also invaluable for teaching the principles of PID temperature control and is well-suited to laboratory demonstrations. A previous customer is using them in second-year chemical engineering university labs for teaching PID control. • For further information, please visit our website at http://www.eyejayinstruments.com. Manuals, software, and a quick-start guide are available for free download.
