Found the perfect, lightweight, contract free REAL GPS tracker which can easily be put on a quadcopter or other aircraft. Never lose your aircraft again :) The battery life is great too lasting up to about 80hours with just a tiny 450mah battery which can be easily modded for larger capacity. • Available here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Dual-GP... • No contracts just a pay as you go sim card, bargain! • Its easy to setup once you get the hang of the sms commands, the worst part was making sense of the chinese pigeon speak manaul. • I am happy to retype the manual here though if anyone needs it in english that makes sense :) • Ok when you unbox it power it up and get your mobile to control it, you have to setup a password and a phone to manage it. • Text from your phone to the QuadGPS the following: pw,123456(default password),center,+447769144362(your own mobile number)# • so should look like this example pw,123456,center,+447769144362# • There are no spaces, if that works you should get a text reply from the GPS to your mobile in chinese • next you need to set the language to english • type w,language,0044# • you should get a reply saying language succeed, if you get no reply you havent set the previous step up correctly, check your number and settings. • w,url# • this will give its position on google maps in a text msg (the one you will send if you lose your quad!) • w,timezone,0# • sets the timezone the number represents how many hours forward or backwards you are, so put a - ifyour behind • If you find that your watch isnt responding to any commands its because it doesnt recognise the number you have set to be the master phone, i.e this command pw,123456,center,+447769144362# took me ages to find out that i had to put the + in on my phone! could be different in your country. • If you would like you course plotted on a map there is also a website address you can view its position on a map and also where it has been over a set time. You can set it to report every second, or more depending on battery life. • Ive you other useful info such as battery life if your flying of your GPS, location, time, height, speed etc. • www.imegps.net • The username is your IMEI number printed in the case behind the battery and the password is 123456 • If you stuck though i am happy to help!
