Fania Records, the historic Latin introduces music fans to its newest musical addition to the Fania family, Timothy Brownie. The Mexico City-based four-member instrumental band has melded a unique sonic palette that includes electropop, psychedelic rock, Latin and funk. • On their Fania Records 6-track debut EP, 'Buffalo Beat,' the band deftly showcases their skillful fusion of melodic rhythms and instrumental layering. Standout tracks include the hypnotic Jugo de Frutas, featuring Latin-influenced horns, driving guitars and outstanding percussion, and Buffalo Beat, on which the band utilized the original recordings of the 1965 Johnny Colon boogaloo classic featuring Tito Ramos, Boogaloo Blues to reinvent the track in a fresh new manner.
