When a Pulitzer prize winning newspaper - the 5th largest in the country - calls for a financial investigation by the state - something is very wrong in Orono. And this call to action comes from the Editorial Board as a group - https://www.startribune.com/editorial... • As Mayor Walsh lowers the City of Orono reserves to the lowest point ever in history - from 45% to 35% (which is barely legal) - we know he is unethically draining every penny for his unapproved pet projects. Some of those projects include handing land to his friends and fellow City Council members. Some include negotiating contracts that benefit City Council members' families. And some appear as possible misappropriation of taxpayer funds. • Tell Mayor Walsh and his partner in crime (his words not ours) fellow Orono City Council member #MariaVeach to stop uncontrolled and unapproved spending of taxpayer funds. • The Citizens of Orono do not want an outrageously costly duplicate fire service, nor the vastly over the approved budget Public Works Building. We do not want structures and development added to our Parks through those entities out of the public eye including 5013Cs. • Stop unethical development in Orono. Stop runaway spending.
