how to use gimp - • How To Use Gimp 2.8.2 For Beginners • download for picture - http://www.mediafire.com/?52yofl6i419... • In this video I'm going to show you how to make a custom background/channel art for the new youtube one channel design. This process is absolutely for free, and this shows you how to convert 1920 x 1080 pixel pictures to custom channel art with gimp. • Step 1 - Alright so the first thing you are going to do is download gimp right here • How To Use Gimp 2.8.2 For Beginners . Then you are going to open up gimp. After that open up a photo or group of photos that could be 1920 x 1080 pixels. If it is then go into image, scale image, and change the width to 2560. Then go into image, and adjust the canvas size height to 1440. • Step 2 - Now you can add things like text and icons. If you want to add text then all you have to do is create a textbox, write whatever you want in it. Change the font (bold it if optional) increase the size, double click the text button, and center the text. Then click layer, auto-crop. After that click the move tool, click the text, and center the text. Then right click the text layer, click add to alpha selection. Next adjust your foreground and background colors. Then click the gradient tool, change it to whatever pattern you like (radial, linear, etc.) Then click your text and drag the line to wherever you want on the picture. This should create a nice gradient for your text. After this click filter, lighting and shade, drop shadow. Then make the x = 0 the y = 0, the blur radius = 15, opacity 100. Then duplicate your layers until they look appropriate • Step 2.5 - If you want to add icons simply click open as layer and add your icons. It helps if you move the icons behind your logo, so to do this all you have to do is go into histogram-layers. Select your icon and drag it under the text layer. To move the icons around use the move tool, and to rotate the icons use the rotate tool. It's pretty simple • Step 3 - One done, save your work, and export the file as a jpeg. However, make sure that the file does not exceed 2MB If it does than save it as a jpeg but with slightly lower quality. Like 90 percent instead of 100 percent quality. • Step 4 - After this all you gotta do is go onto your youtube channel click the place where your banner is, click edit channel art, and click select photo from your computer, select your photo, crop it if necessary, and click select. Now you've successfully uploaded your own professional, custom channel art to your youtube channel for free. • Feel free to leave suggestions for future videos in the comments section, or any questions you have. • --Featured Channels-- • EliteStaraptor - / elitestaraptor • Gadgetnews1- / gadgetnews1
