Here's a Sylvester Stallone workout like no other - it's based entirely on Sly's MOVIES! Spot the references and have fun with this brutal muscle building biceps and triceps workout based on the movie career of The Italian Stallion himself! • Subscribe here: https://www.youtube.com/c/RussHowePTI... • See all other videos: / russhowepti • Get all the workout programs: https://russhowepti.com/app • Of course, in order to train like Stallone, we must first know how them man trained... • To do that, we must look to the past. • A typical Sylvester Stallone workout routine was built around two things - high rep sets, and circuits. Sly LOVED pairing exercises together into groups of 2-4, particularly when targeting smaller body parts such as his biceps and triceps. He's also long been a fan of higher rep ranges, forcing out reps against the build-up of lactic acid ( the burn ) in much the same way many of his movie characters kept pushing back under immense pressure. • This type of training utilizes one of my three proven muscle building principles: Metabolic Stress. The focus is on time under tension, as opposed to lifting heavier weights, making it a useful method for building muscle as you get older and the stress of heavy weights begins to take its toll. Almost every Sylvester Stallone workout and diet plan has been built around this type of training, since way back in the days of Rocky IV and Cliffhanger, to the more recent movies like The Expendables and Bullet To The Head. • It's a training style that works very well, and I'm a big fan of it. We will be basing today's workout on this style of training. • Of course, this wouldn't be a Sylvester Stallone workout unless we brought in some unique twists the incorporate references to Sly's own movies, so the next step to building our perfect Sylvester Stallone workout is to do this... • You will work through three phases during today's ARM WORKOUT. • Phase 1 is THE EXPENDABLES WORKOUT. • During this phase you'll use giant sets to train your biceps and triceps, using exercises which target the long head of the triceps and the long head of the biceps, to help you build thick, muscular arms like Stallone. At 60 reps per circuit - and 4 circuits in total! - there will be plenty of explosions during this phase, just like The Expendables movies! • Phase 2 is THE CLIFFHANGER WORKOUT. • Grip work is the name of the game here. Take a look at Sylvester Stallone's forearms from any point of the 1990's. I know... they're so well developed we could call them five-arms, right? Well, it's no coincidence that Sly used to absolutely hammer his forearms with exercises like the Timed Hang, Plate Grips, and Wrist Rolls to get those thick Rambo forearms. You will do the same here, and I expect you to be able to Hang On! until the end of the phase. • Phase 3 is THE ROCKY IV WORKOUT. • A recurring theme of Stallone movies is characters who must overcome a seemingly insurmountable challenge. None more so than Rocky IV, where he faced off against the big Russian machine Ivan Drago and, against all odds, was the last man standing. Now it's your turn to try doing the same thing, as we enter the final stage of the Stallone arm workout... This phase has only two exercises, performed separately, but I promise they will make your biceps and triceps scream for mercy. Can you make it to the end of the Rocky IV phase? There's only one way to find out. • Sylvester Stallone has adapted his training and diet over the years to stay in top shape despite the onset of age. He's done this by not just training hard, but also by training smart. The crazy days of 3 hour arm workouts followed by insane cardio routines and super strict nutrition plans in the 1980's are long gone. Nowadays, Sly gets in and out of the gym in about an hour. This workout will have you doing the exact same thing. The trick is to be INTENSE. Don't waste too much time resting between sets. Work with whatever weights you can lift with good form, even if that means going lighter than you hoped to. Remember, this workout focuses on Metabolic Stress as its means of creating hypertrophy. That means the culminative burn is what creates those results. • This is EXACTLY the way Sylvester Stallone trained to carve the physique you see in your favorite Sly movies - and now you get to try the exact same type of workout, while having a little FUN with some unique Stallone movie references along the way! • Can you conquer Russ' challenging Sylvester Stallone arm workout? • Let us know in the comments, perhaps he'll make a sequel using different Stallone movies in the future! • You can learn even more about the Sylvester Stallone workout and diet by reading this useful breakdown built by Russ: https://russhowepti.com/how-sylvester...
