Sculptural felt bag

A visual record of a complex felt bag which I made many years ago during a workshop I hosted in Ireland with wonderful Dutch textile artist Lyda Rump. • Felting is such an amazing technique. In simple terms it's non woven fabric created by laying out overlapping layers of wool, cashmere, yak, alpaca or other similar animal based fibres then adding soap, water and agitation by hand until all the fibres combine, shrink and form a tough, non woven fabric.
