THIS, my friends, is literally one of the best-mastered 12 singles that has ever graced my platter. It is so punchy, clear, dynamic, sparkly and detailed that when it's played on a decent turntable setup like mine, I swear it could be VERY easily mistaken for being a digital version by blind listeners unaware that this is actually the analogue electrical output of a microscopic diamond dragging and vibrating its way through engraved sound waves in a circular, foot-long slab of plastic. What helps is that the recording, AND mastering, is done in such a manner that a certain familiar limitation and drawback of vinyl - inner groove distortion - is very, very barely descernible, if at all, as the stylus approaches the end of the record side. • And, once again, I can't help but speak very highly of my beloved BBE Sonic Maximizer, which for the past 3 1/2 years has always proven an essential tool in making my turntable setup sound as good as it does, and making my vinyl videos truly stand out from everybody else's on YouTube. This classic chart hit by the British synth-pop group Tin Tin - formed and led by Stephen Duffy - was, legendarily, recorded within a mere 24 hours after they had signed to WEA in 1982 (the single was later released in North America by WEA-distributed Sire, where it became an American dance hit).
