Do you keep a mileage log and have a smart phone? You can use the scan app on the phone to take a picture of that receipt as soon as it comes out of the gas pump. That way you can send it to your bookkeeper immediately. There are two bad things that happen to gas receipts. One is that you lose them. The other is that you hold on to them but you can’t read them, as the heat sensitive paper does not hold on to an impression for very long.
