In this video, I'll show you how to tune a baritone ukulele. Some ukuleles have built-in tuners, like my flame maple baritone from Lanikai. Others, like my spruce-top baritone, do not. In that case, I use a clip-on tuner! You can also tune using an app or a website, though in some cases you may need to match a pitch and tune by ear. This can be a bit tricky, but is a skill totally worth developing! • Here's a link to the uke I play: https://amzn.to/33kBQIE • Tuning your ukulele is one of the best time investments you can make. You'll sound better when you practice, and that will encourage you to keep up your practice routine! And of course, tuning is essential when you perform in front of an audience. • To learn more about baritone ukulele, join me on Patreon! www.patreon.com/abigailflowersmusic • www.abigailflowersmusic.com • TIME STAMPS: • 0:00 - introduction • 0:37 - names of the open strings (DGBE) • 0:56 - using a built-in tuner • 1:52 - using a clip-on tuner • 2:14- find the right setting • 2:48 - tuning the D string • 3:28 - which direction do I turn my tuning peg? • 4:06 - G string • 4:26 - tuning a string that is sharp • 5:23 - B string (strings on the other side of the headstock) • 6:31 - E string • 6:49 - double check • 7:43 - other ways to tune (without clip-on tuner)
