The Lesser Poland Voivodeship (Malopolskie) is one of the most interesting and smallest voivodeships in Poland. Find out which places are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and what cultural, or man-made, attractions are worth seeing. • We start from Krakow, which was the first city in Europe inscribed on the UNESCO List. These are in fact three parts of Krakow - the Old Town demarcated by the Planty area, Wawel Hill with Stradom and Kazimierz. • In the same year, i.e. in 1978, the salt mine in Wieliczka was included on the UNESCO List, and in 2003 the entry was extended to include the Wieliczka Saltworks Castle and the salt mine in Bochnia. • We will also take you to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. The local sanctuary is beautifully situated and is also on the List. We will show monuments of wooden architecture, such as churches in Binarowa and Dębno Podhalańskie and the Orthodox church in Kwiatoń. • Cultural attractions also include royal castles: Wawel Castle, but also the Royal Castle in Niepołomice. This is also the Pieskowa Skała castle on the Trail of the Eagles' Nests. • We will also show you Tarnów, the second city in Małopolska after Krakow in terms of the number of monuments. • Lesser Poland also has numerous monasteries. We chose two of them: the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec and the monastery of the Poor Clares in Stary Sącz. • Finally, the Lesser Poland region has the following mounds: Kościuszko, Krakus, Wanda and others in Krakow, as well as the mound in Krynica-Zdrój and Niepołomice.
