Act 524 Lines in the Sand Masochism Optimist Path Walkthrough MCOC

Hello Everyone! In this video we will walk through the optimist path on the left in Act 5.2.4 (Lines in the Sand). • The global node for this map is Masochism, which causes the opponent to regenerate 5% of their health when they receive a debuff. Once this is triggered, there is a 7 second cool down timer before it can be activated again. Additionally, role reversal is on so class relationships are reversed on this map. • For Masochism, make sure you realize that if you try to parry and the gray cool down timer is not visibile the stun will activate masochism and drop. This is very difficult for people to handle as they are trained to take advantage of the stun. So be careful with your parries as you will have some drop. I have found three general strategies for dealing with the regeneration: • 1) Despair paired with bleeders and poisoners – This is the strategy I will be showing in the video. For this, you will be using either bleeders (black panther, x-23) or poisoners (Doctor Voodoo) that can stack their debuffs. With despair, you will reduce the enemy’s regeneration substantially with stacked debuffs. If you are using bleeders, I would recommend having deep wounds and assassin as well. • 2) Don’t use Debuffs – Choose champions such as star lord that can be used to cause no debuffs and make sure to not use parry. This will allow you to do the fights without activating masochism. However, if you are a parry king, I would not recommend this strategy as you will inevitably use parry. • 3) Long term heal block – Champions such as yondu can place long lasting heal blocks so you can pretty ignore the regeneration while this is on. • For the Optimist path, each opponent will gain fury, armor, and health steal while they are below 25% health. Overall this can be ignored as long as you do not get hit directly as they will regenerate from the damage they do to you. • The Opponents you will face are: Yellowjacket, Deadpool (original), Colossus, Punisher, Iron Patriot, Iron man, Deadpool (x-force), War Machine, Hulk, Loki, and finally Storm. • If you go this path, storm will have caltrops on her, so either bring a bleed immune champion or watch the boss fight carefully as it shows how to handle her with champions that are not immune to bleed. Briefly, you will need to take the supers on your shield rather than dexterity them and immediately dash in. Additionally, parry timing will be very important as you do not want to have to take a combo and dash back after a heavy attack. You can attack while she is charging her heavy, but the timing is more difficult. • I would recommend watching the video first to see the general strategies for each champion and then watch it again while you are actually fighting so you can see the fights beforehand and get the timing down for each super and combo.
