He hadn't had a visit from his mom and the stress of being behind bars was getting to him. In this extensive interview, Kevin talked about his family turmoil, his dad being in prison and what he hoped for his future if the judge released him from detention. He stated that young kids like him could turn their lives around and be somebody if adults would understand the issues they deal with on a daily basis. Acting out, he said, was ultimately a cry for help. • Note: After being released from juvenile detention, Kevin was later arrested in 2016 for carrying a handgun with no license. He received a two year prison sentence and was released in 2018.
