In this video, Pat shares his experience with the VALOR Program inmates last month in McKinney Texas. This program is the brainchild of Sheriff Jim Skinner and Judge John Roach. They wanted to create something that would benefit incarcerated inmates and give them tools to use when they return to society. From teaching them actual job skills to how to deal with PTSD, the horse is a vector where everyone is on equal footing and judgement evaporates. The inmates can let down and understand what is possible in their lives. As a veteran with PTSD, Pat feels especially qualified to interact with and help these men and women.
