Organic SLUG CONTROL with nematodes 🐌

If you live in a cool climate, Spring and Autumn are great times to deal with slugs 🐌 • This year, I'm trying a new (to me) organic method to try to control their numbers and subsequent damage to my plants. • I've applied Nematodes - which are microscopic worms that live in the soil and will kill the slugs at their larval stage. • The process is very simple, once you receive the Nematodes: • 1) store them in the fridge or apply directly (it is recommended to do so in the evening). • 2) create a stock solution by diluting the Nematodes (they come in some sandy soil) into 4L of water • 3) stir well • 4) dilute 0.5L of the stock solution into 4.5L of water and apply with a coarse water can or hose • 5) stir the solution again every time you sample 0.5L and repeat the process until the stock solution runs out • 6) apply as close to the soil as possible, at dusk and keep the soil moist if it doesn't rain • My garden is fairly small so I only ordered one pack (to treat up to 40m2) but of course you can scale that to whatever size garden you have! • This was the first application, I will repeat this exact process in 6 weeks and hope I won't lose more seedlings (and Tulips)!! • How do you take care of slugs in your gardens? • xx • #gardening #slugcontrol #shorts #gardenmaintenance #gardentips #organicgarden • ♡ FOLLOW ME HERE: • ♡ Instagram • @bobbiostudio • / bobbiostudio
