Methyl orange is an Azo dye, that changes its color with PH. Its change zone is between pH 3.1 and 4.4, turning from red under 3.1 to orange-yellow above 4.4. • I will prepare an 0.1 % aqueous solution of methyl orange and perform a test with differents pHs adding sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrochloric acid (HCl) respectively. Adding enough amount of HCl the color will turn from orange-yellow to red as we go from 4.4 to 3.1. Afterwards, adding NaOH will revert the reaction and the color changes to orange-yellow again. Isis a reversible reaction. • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methyl_... • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PH_indi... • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PH • pH calculator http://www.aqion.onl/ • Susbcribe ► https://www.youtube.com/subscription_... • Do you want to contribute subtitles? ► http://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_p... • Cienciabit ► http://www.cienciabit.com
