Quest for NewYears Fireworks

12/29/2010 • So! Anchorage has LEGALIZED FIREWORKS within the Anchorage area on private properties for the one night of the New Year. I'M ECSTATIC! The last time I was able to shoot fireworks was starting 2004's New Year... So while I said six years in the video, it has actually been SEVEN years since I've shot off fireworks. And I'm a complete pyromaniac. So today, I went on a 50 someodd mile quest to go buy a quite large amount of fireworks from the one city (if you can call it that) in Alaska where it is legal to SELL them... Houston. It was quite a trip. The weather was really nice, the roads were very manageable, and the traffic wasn't really all that bad. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure that by coming out in the middle of the week and two days before the New Year, I've avoided the big rushes. Even still, I thought it would be much worse than it actually was. But I left the house today with a plan, and a quota in mind... And I did not break that quota.
