Welcome friends, today on History With Tym Reacts to, we will be reacting to the Sabaton song Carolus Rex. This song is specifically about the Swedish King Charles the Twelfth, or in latin Carolus Rex. • Charles would lead to some of the largest expansions to the Swedish Empire, when during the Great Northern War, he would defeat the Tsardom of Russia, Kingdom of Denmark and the Commonwealth of Poland-Lithuania. However he would become a Icarus and fly to close to the sun, finally being defeated by the Tsardom of Russia, under Peter the Great at the Battle of Poltava on July 8th, 1709. • The defeat at Poltava would create Russia from it's Tsardom, and turn it into the juggernaut that would become the Russian Empire, that would endure until 1917. Charles would be forced to flee to Ottoman Balkans for safety. after a long overdue stay, he would return to Sweden and die while putting down a Norwegian fortress and bring an end to his line and family's rule of Sweden. • Thank you for joining us today, I hope you enjoy the video!
