Not only were there very influential and famous academics in the room (far senior to me in age and prestige in the academic world - which is very, very different than the world of dawah that I am more accustomed to), I was in essence the only one preaching this position explicitly, and it was NOT a popular position amongst most of the conference attendees! • The topic of the entire conference was the question of Salvific Exclusivity in Islam: can others, outside of the faith, ever have hope of salvation?
