911 WTC Rare Video of First Plane Attack WNYW TV

The following features rare WNYW TV videotape of the first hijacked plane attack on the north tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 AM EDT on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Just a few hours later, during its live, continuous on-air coverage of the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, WNYW TV FOX 5 played back this rare videotape of that first WTC crash (it is this first on-air replay of WNYW's rare videotape that we are seeing here). • • It is important to note that the WNYW TV portable camera which captured this scene at 8:46 AM EDT was at rest at the time, and was pointed downward toward the street; this was because the portable camera was not relaying live pictures for air on Channel 5 at that moment (in other words, it was only in the process of videotaping and was not in the process of airing anything live). As a result of the camera pointing downward, we HEAR the plane overhead and we HEAR it crash into the World Trade Center's north tower, but we do not SEE the plane itself. • • See also • September 11 First Plane Attack at WT...
