This includes beans, lentils, peas, and other little seeds in lentils or beans. So, any split legume is referred to as a dal in Indian Pakistani culture. • Let’s see speciality of our culture of making dal with a unique recipe. • Lassan Special Sabut Maser with rice and home-made curd • Serves : 7-8 • What you need! • Masala preparation: • 1) Oil 100 ml • 2) onion 01 medium size • 3) tomatoes 02 large size • 4) ginger/garlic paste 1 tbsp • 5) salt as per taste • 6) red chilli powder 1 tbsp • 7) cumin 1/2 tbsp • 8) turmeric 1/2 tbsp • Tarkaa preparation: • 1) Oil 200 ml • 2) Organic garlic 🧄 2-3 full • 3) red chilli flakes 1/2 tbsp • 4) garam masala 1/2 tbsp • 5) cumin 1/2 tbsp • • What to do! • 1) Prepare masala by putting oil in pressure cooker. • 2) upon slight heating, add onion and fry roll golden brown. • 3) after that add tomatoes (finely chopped) in onion, ginger/garlic paste, above mentioned spices. Cook on high flame for sometime. • 4) add water intermittently to avoid overcooking. • 5) masala preparation will take 10-12 minutes but do not rush while making it. It should be transformed into a literal paste. • TIP: always soak sabet maser for about 30 minutes before cooking. • 6) add soaked dal into the prepared masala and fry it till the color of lentil changes. • 7) now it’s the time to add water of about 700 ml for 300 ml of dal. • 8) close the lid of pressure cooker and always cook dal on low - medium flame. 17-18 minutes is the ideal time. • 9) lentil is perfectly consistent , creamy and soft. • 10) garlic tarkaa has a peculiar taste in dal, so in 200 ml oil put garlic. • 11) fry it and add chilli flakes, cumin and garam masala together in it. • 12) then add green chillies and in no time shift this into dal container. • 13) cover it for sometime and sprinkle fresh coriander. • 14) I served this chattpatti dal with home-made curd, plum sauce, pickle, beef kabab chicken seekh kabab.
