Here's an animated Christmas commercial for Toys R Us, with Geoffrey the Giraffe and his family gathered 'round the fireplace before heading off to the area Toys R Us store to sample all the toys being offered - all to a special holiday-themed arrangement of The World's Biggest Toy Store...The Biggest Selection jingle. • This particular (and memorable) ad had aired at least since 1976, but in this form (with a notice towards the end of extended hours - to midnight Monday through Saturday and 10pm on Sunday) was (C) 1981 Toys R Us, Inc. • This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, December 18th 1981 during the 4:30pm to 5:30pm timeframe. • About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television: • The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally.
