Soundbar repaired for £1.29 in less than 20 mins. • After many years of faithful service my Yamaha YSP1100 Soundbar developed a fault where it became difficult to turn on. I checked the obvious before searching online forums for help where I learned that this seemed to be a common problem affecting various models of the YSP Speaker. • Apparently a failed capacitor at circuit *C515 is almost always the cause of this fault and the recommended fix is to replace this 22nf 630v original spec item with an uprated 22nf 1250v component. • The new capacitor cost £1.29 from Maplin and the repair took less than 20 minutes to complete. I used bell wire to extend the connections from the cap to the circuit board (also available from Maplin).
