His hit recordings include Mandy , Can't Smile Without You , and Copacabana (At the Copa) . • He has recorded and released 47 Top 40 singles, including 12 that hit number one and 27 of which appeared within the top ten, and has released many multi-platinum albums. Although not a favorite artist of music critics,[2] Manilow has been praised by entertainers including Frank Sinatra, who was quoted in the 1970s as saying, He's next. [3] In 1988, Bob Dylan stopped Manilow at a party, hugged him and said, Don't stop what you're doing, man. We're all inspired by you. [4] • As well as producing and arranging albums for other artists, including Bette Midler and Dionne Warwick, Manilow has written songs for musicals, films, and commercials. From February 2005 to December 2009, he was the headliner at the Las Vegas Hilton, performing hundreds of shows before ending his relationship with the hotel. Since March 2010, he has headlined at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas. He has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists • Manilow released an album called Barry Manilow II, which contained the breakthrough number-one hit, Mandy. Manilow had not wanted to record the song, which had originally been titled Brandy when originally recorded by its co-writer Scott English, but the song was included at the insistence of Davis. The name was changed to Mandy during the actual recording session on August 20, 1974, due to the fact that there had already been a song called Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) performed by Looking Glassand released in 1972 on Davis' Epic label. • • LYRICS • I remember all my life • Raining down as cold as ice • Shadows of a man • A face through a window cryin' in the night • The night goes into • Morning just another day • Happy people pass my way • Looking in their eyes • I see a memory • I never realized • How happy you made me • Oh Mandy well • You came and you gave without taking • But I sent you away • Oh, Mandy • Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shaking • And I need you today • Oh, Mandy! • I'm standing on the edge of time • I've walked away when love was mine • Caught up in a world of uphill climbing • The tears are in my mind and nothin' is rhyming • Oh Mandy well, • You came and you gave without taking • But I sent you away. • Oh, Mandy • Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shaking, • And I need you today • Oh, Mandy! • Yesterday's a dream • I face the morning • Crying on a breeze • The pain is calling • Oh Mandy • Well, you came and you gave without taking • But I sent you away oh, Mandy • Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shaking • And I need you today oh, Mandy • You came and you gave without taking • But I sent you away oh, Mandy • You kissed me and stopped me from shaking • And I need you • • chitoliro • kèn xắc xô phôn • pūtohe • sacsafón • sacsoffon • saks • saksafon • saksafoni • saksofon • saksofonas • saksofoni • saksofono • saksofons • saksofoon • saksopon • sassofono • Saxofoi • saxofon • saxofón • saxófón • saxòfon • saxofone • saxofoon • Saxophon • saxophone • کے • szakszofon • σαξόφωνο • Сакс • саксафон • саксофон • սաքսոֆոն • საქსაფონი • サクソフォン • סאַקסאָפאָן • סקסופון • ساكسفون • ساکسیفون • किल्ल्या असलेले एक वायुवाद्य • सैक्सोफोन • স্যাক্সোফোন • સેક્સોફોન • சாக்ஸபோன் • శాక్సోఫోన్ • ಸ್ಯಾಕ್ಸೋಫೋನ್ • แซ็กโซโฟน • ស្រឡៃ • 색소폰 • 萨克管 • 薩克管
