π₯§ OLD SCHOOL CORNBREAD DRESSING π₯§ • This is a recipe i have been using for over 40 years • I guarantee if you follow this recipe exactly • Your dressing will be moist flavorful and delicious • • RECIPE • 1 pan OLD SCHOOL CORNBREAD ( crumbled) • 2 quart OLD SCHOOL TURKEY stock • 1 cup chopped celery • 1 cup chopped onions • 2 tablespoons chopped sage • 2 tablespoons chopped thyme • 2 tablespoons chopped rosemary • 1 cup chopped turkey neck meat( previously cooked for 1 hour)(optional) • 1/2 cup chopped giblets (previously cooked for 2 hours)(optimal) • 1# sage breakfast sausage • 4 eggs beaten • In large stock pot • cook sausage until brown and crumbled • Add onions, herbs ,celery and turkey stock • Simmer for 30-45 minutes • Add turkey neck and giblets • Simmer another 10 minutes • Add stock to crumbled CORNBREAD in large bowl and add eggs • Mix well and season with salt and pepper • Pour in baking dish and cook for 30 -45 minutes uncovered on 350 degrees or until its slightly set (don't over cook, dressing should be moist, not dry and crumbly. Maybe crisp edges. • GREAT with any protein you make. Especially, Turkey or Chicken.
