Using the Spectrum Analyzer Multi Channel oscilloscope software

This video will demonstrate how you can use a spectrum analyzer to reveal signals that are invisible in the time domain. • This signal contains multiple frequency components, but that is unclear in a Yt graph. • Use the spectrum analyzer quick function to create a spectrum analyzer. • The frequency spectrum of the measured signal is displayed in a new graph. • You can increase the frequency resolution of the spectrum by increasing the record length. The shown spectrum is now much more accurate. • Zooming in will give a better view of the lower frequency components. • When the captured signal does not contain a whole number of periods, spectral leakage occurs. To minimize its effect, we let the FFT I/O apply a window to the measurement. • The Blackman-Harris window will mostly give the best results. • Frequency components that where hidden in the Yt graph, are now clearly visible. • For more information, see http://www.tiepie.com/software/MultiC...
