Multi-Tiered System of Support, or MTSS, is an inclusive system of support for all students, and encompasses Universal Support, Additional Support, and Intensified Support. This short SWIFT clip by Dan Habib highlights how SWIFT schools implement intensified support: ongoing specially designed instruction, extra support, and other services for a few students. General and Special Educators use progress monitoring data to discern which supports students need in order to include every child in the general education classroom. Schoolwide Integrated Framework for Transformation (SWIFT) is a national K through 8 technical assistance center that builds school capacity to provide academic and behavioral support to improve outcomes for all students through equity-based inclusive education.
