Rustproofing Vehicles 5 Steps DIY

This is the method I'm using to protect my MK 5 Ford Transit against RUST! In my opinion this is definitely worthwhile doing on an older vehicle prone to rust. Providing that the chassis and sills are in a reasonable condition to start with, this preventative maintenance activity will save hours of welding in the future. • I believe this is the best method for long lasting rust protection. I focus on the chassis and sills for this video as the structure of the vehicle is most important. Waxoyl can also be applied to different areas for rust protection. • Materials used: • Hammerite direct to rust metal paint or rust inhibiting paint (red oxide, rustoleum etc) (cheaper for red oxide!) • Hammerite Waxoyl rustproofing for cars undercoating gun or equivalent: https://amzn.to/3hTA0FP • White spirit or engine oil • Cortanin F rust converter or alternative • Wire brush for drill • Paintbrush • Disclaimer: Be sure to wear all of the correct PPE if carrying out this task and read safety data sheets for the products before use.
