Direct to the point. The Ultra Turn technique (U-Turn) can be used by every driving style / engine type be it Turn, Balanced, Acceleration, or Drift. This is also doable using an Analog stick but I tried it myself and it's extremely difficult and inconsistent for me. If you are an Analog-type racer, I suggest just switching immediately to the D-pad if you need to do a U-Turn, then switch back to Analog when you're back on track. • The same buttons can be pressed while in mid-air to steer sharper -- albeit the term for it is Air Brake. Basically press and hold the Brake, Reverse, and Right / Left mid-air. This is most notable when attempting the U-Turn shortcut before the finish line in Hot Air Skyway. • I believe that mastering this technique is the prerequisite for wall hugging and corner cutting. Speed driving style benefits the most from this tech as it has an extremely low turn stat.
