In this video I will explain how pages and sections are synced using OneNote 2016 (manual install and license) and the Windows 10 OneNote app (pre-installed and automatically updated on W10). • There are key differences to how (and where) OneNote content is stored and synced. • OneNote 2016: you can store Notebooks locally and/or the cloud (OneDrive). Use the Sync Now and Sync Status options to check sync status. You can only check sync status for the entire Notebook. • Windows 10 OneNote app: you must sign in to use the app and all Notebooks are ONLY stored in the cloud (OneDrive). You can check on sync status per page as well as the entire Notebook using the Sync options. • Importantly, OneNote 2016 gives you the benefit of extensive offline use since Notebooks are stored locally. The Windows 10 OneNote app does this too but in more of a limited, cached environment. One gives you more offline use and backup options, the other gives you more space and efficient use of your Windows system. • I hope this video is helpful. Please post questions and comments and I will attempt to answer them. • Reference information: • 1. https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/h... • 2. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/m...
