In honor of Black History Month, we're celebrating the first appearance of Susie Carmichael and her family on Rugrats, in the episode Meet the Carmichaels which premiered on January 10th, 1993. • Cree Summer, the voice of Susie, said it best in an interview with Splinter News: Susie came at a time when I don’t think we were seeing a lot of little black girls in animation or a lot of little black girls on TV, period.
