Welcome to another Hairguard video. • So lately we’ve been getting lots of questions and requests on DHT blockers, and finasteride in particular. • DHT and ways of blocking it are just one of those topics we can never seem to get enough of in the hair loss community. • And for good reason. • So we’ve put together a list of the most common questions related to finasteride and its use. • And some not so common ones. • As always, you can count on us to give you the definitive answers. • I’ve also put timestamps in the description below, so if there’s a particular question you’re interested in, you can just skip to the relevant part of the video. • Are you ready? • Let’s get into it. • How does finasteride work? • Finasteride inhibits the synthesis of a male hormone called DHT, which is short for dihydrotestosterone. • DHT is the molecule directly responsible for male pattern baldness. • Under its influence the hair follicles alter their growth cycle and eventually shrink in size. • In the end the hairs become so small that they remain permanently below the surface of the scalp. • This process is called hair follicle miniaturization, and it’s the hallmark of male pattern baldness. • By inhibiting the synthesis of DHT, finasteride gives follicles a chance to resume their normal hair growth cycle, putting an end to the follicle miniaturization process. • The end result of this? Your hair stops falling out. • What kind of results am I likely to see? • If, like most men, you respond positively to finasteride, you will stop losing further hair. • ------------------------------- • OTHER HAIRGUARD FINASTERIDE VIDEOS: • • Topical Finasteride: Science, Pros an... • • What Happens When You QUIT FINASTERIDE? • • Microdosing Finasteride BREAKTHROUGH:... • Reference Links: • https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/prod... • http://www.jddtonline.info/index.php/... • https://escholarship.org/content/qt24... • https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NB... • Disclaimer • This video is for educational purposes only and is not intended to treat, diagnose or cure any disease.
