Why? Donkeys play differently from a horse. Donkeys grab the neck and hold on it's a fun game when the size and sex of the donkey buddy are fair. What size is fair? Miniature donkeys with mini donkeys and burro size with a burro or a mammoth donkey. Geldings with geldings and jennies with jennies as this provides peace and harmony during estrus time. Some geldings will not only attack a jennie during estrus they will do othe job and the female can stop eating, drinking and be at risk for collic. Now it is important to get another female for your jennie and another gelding for your gelding. • • Can A Donkey Live Alone Without Another Donkey? Yes, of course, but the donkey will not be in optimum health, will not be happy, if an extrovert this donkey will bray more, and can get violent towards another animal species such as a goat, cow, or sheep. Introverted donkeys can withdraw and stop eating from depression. • Remove baby goats and sheep from donkeys until they are strong enough to get away from donkeys. Donkeys can and do kill babies. Why? Well, donkeys like to play tug, grab the neck of the donkey buddy and they are very intelligent much more than the horse as they can think all the time. Donkeys get bored much faster than a horse.
