http://www.cpapclinic.ca • The Resmed Quattro Full Face Mask Fitting Video Guide • Today we’re working with the Resmed Full Face Mask. We are going to quickly run though fitting this mask and point out a few details along the way to fine tune its overall fit. • Let’s begin. When you take your mask, one of the best ways to get it going is to put it on like a hat. Ideally you want the straps to clear above and below the ears. And of course you will snap in the side straps using the clips. When it comes to full face masks, in general, most of them will feature the bottom of the cushion sitting in the crease of the chin. • The way it would look would be centered. And to get it there you may have to pull it away from the face when it’s on you, to reset. One of the features which is a part of this mask and not on any other is the presence of the adjustment dial. With it you can turn it clockwise to push the mask closer to the face. And it turns counter-clockwise to take it (pressure) away from the face. Now what this adjustment is essentially doing is adjusting the amount of pressure on the nose bridge. And sometimes when you wake up, or sleep on your side, or your neck is at a peculiar angle, the air (from the CPAP) may leak into the eyes (from the mask). So this adjustment knob allows you to turn it, take away the leak, seal the mask and go back to sleep. • And down below, just like most masks, you have tour Velcro straps that you adjust below the ears. The key here is to pull back evenly, at the same time, by just a little bit. • If there is a leak during sleep and it wakes you, you can shut your machine off, take your mask and completely pull it away from the face (while still on your head) by a little bit, reset the fit. Make sure it’s (the full face mask) comfortable, centered, turn your machine back on and listen for that little “thump” inside the mask which tells you it’s sealed. • And of course, if that method did not take away the leak, you can make an even strap adjustment below the ears, turn the adjustment dial at the top for a balanced fit. Remember to stay away from making the top straps above the ears too tight. One more thing to remember about the Quattro is that there are vents. Air does come out of the front of the mask. There are two areas air exhausts from it. The Quattro Full Face mask is designed to allow this. • The Resmed Full Face Mask. • • 1.877.430.2727(CPAP) • We're mobile.
