In today’s experiment we have one of our volunteers, Isabel, show us how to grow gummy bears through osmosis by using treated water. When a gummy bear is placed in each cup of water (one regular, one with salt, one with vinegar), and left overnight, we see that they grow in varying sizes! This process of osmosis can be seen when fingers get wrinkled/prune-like when you have been in the water for a long period of time. For this experiment you will need: 3 clear cups, water to fill, 1 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp vinegar, and gummy bears.
