In world mythology and legends, there are many tales of the mysterious old woman. In Norse mythology that old woman is Elle, who challenges the mighty Thor in a test of strength. Thor, his half brother Loki and their companion Thialfi, find themselves in the land of the giants. The king of the giants tests them with different forms of challenges, in which all three fail. But before they leave the kingdom of the Jötunn, Thor demands one last challenge in hopes of redeeming his honor. • In this video I wanted to focus more on Elle and what she really represents. The interesting thing about the Norse gods, is that they are not immortal. They too can grow old, unless they eat the golden apple of immortality. • I'm very proud of this video and the amount of work that went into making it. 30 illustrations were created for this episode, as well as an original music score by Edgar Saakyan.
