These tips help you consistently put more cash into your pocket and increase the odds of winning your short put option trades! • • Briefly, when you sell a put option you are selling someone the right to put shares of a stock or ETF into your account until the option expires. Here’s an example of that. • • What are the best stocks to sell these put options in? Tip number one is to pick good, solid and mature companies to trade your options in. But what about that higher volatility? I mean all of us want to make as much money as possible right? • • Tip number two is that as you review your list of companies that you feel comfortable trading in, try to find companies that have declined in price but are now finding support. And make sure to check out multiple time frames because if a stock is finding support at several different time frames, the odds of it holding that support level are a lot higher than if it’s just finding support at one time frame. • • Tip number once you have found a stock that you’d like to trade in, and it has declined in price, so the volatility is a little bit higher than normal but it’s finding support on multiple times, then you need to decide what strike price you’re going to sell that put option at. • • You really have two choices. If you want to go with a little bit riskier of a trade but a higher return, you can sell the put option right at that support level. If you want to play it safer and are willing to get a little bit lower return, then you could sell a put option at a strike price just below that support level.
