The second one is a new method that I use most of the time. • Soaking large seed like bean seed or large amounts of seed is easily done in kitchen dishes. But what about small seed or small quantities of seed? I’ll show you how I handle these. • The first method uses small zip lock bags. You can get these at dollar stores or hobby stores. • Simply add your seeds, some water and zip up the bags. • Let them sit for 24 hours. The bags make it easy to drain the seeds. Opps – one snuck out. No problem – just put it back. • If they need repeated washing or longer soaking, add more water and continue the process. • Rinse every 24 hours. • The second method uses the caps from liquor bottles. Some of the rum caps are nice and tall and make great containers for soaking seed. Remove the inner liner before you use them. • When you are ready to drain the seeds, just use your finger to hold the seeds inside the cap. • When you are done, rinse the caps with water and use them again. • If you are doing several different seeds at the same time – remember to label them. I just sit the cap on top of the seed envelope, so I know which is which. • List of Credits: • Images: • All slides and videos belong to GardenFundamentals.com or are public domain images, except for the following: • Music: • Kevin Macleod: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-...
