my website http://jules46443.weebly.com/ • please note the Stapleford Miniature Railway is a private site that only opens to the general public twice a year which i with to respect hence this message. for more information on the stapleford miniature railway please http://www.fsmr.org.uk/ • this fantastic railway which opens for 2 weekends every year holds fantastic events on it's 10 a quarter inch gauge miniature railway and my visit saw the usual resident engines resplendently showing their pride as they took it in turns to run the passenger services. Due to the continued absence of the jubilee, GWR saint class 4-6-0 no. 2943 Hampton Court was paired with curwen atlantic 4-4-2 no. 751 and named after the famous John H Gretton who originally owned the line and a few of the locomotives. also in action were the east african railways (EAR) class 31 no. 3109 named Uganda with support for most of the day coming from the diesel based on a class 42 warship class diesel named white heron. Due to a slight problem in the morning the 4th steam loco to be in service (due to the absence of the jubilee and the berkshire locomotives) were new york central niagara class no. 6019, once this engine was fixed it was put straight into service, i had a ride on the saint/curwen combination, the EAR and the niagara with assistance from white heron when the double header used the triangle but sadly didn't get to film the niagara much due to me forgetting to charge the camera and running out of power. just before i did lose the battery i did however manage to get a (these days) more unusual sight of John H Gretton on it's own, a sight which will be more common as of 2014 when the jubilee returns to action to join the saint when with the addition of the EAR the FSMR as it's known will have 5 sets of locos plus white heron on standby, a truely fantastic world famous railway • as well as the railway the fields also hosted a beer tent, miniature engines, vintage cars, vintage farm tractors, fairground organs (heard in the video), traction engines, stationary engines, old time fair ground and many more thrills
