The Shadow was a very popular radio program that began airing on CBS in 1930. Two attempts were made to adapt the character to television. The first, in 1954 and the second 1958. Two episodes were filmed for the 1958 production, but never aired. They were eventually compiled into a feature film, The Invisible Avenger.
