When the HM ambassador car came out, we only had manual steering. There were no side mirrors, breaks, stick shift gears and no seat belts. As people got interested in cars, safety standards were raised. No. of deaths to accidents has significantly reduced even with higher numbers of cars on the road. • Airbags are a passive safety feature which will protect passengers and the driver if a crash is detected. As per current standard, 6 airbags should be kept. It is made up of nylon and deflates with pressurized gas when the sensors are hit. • We have briefly explained the two types of detectors that sense a crash. • Interestingly, the airbags should be able to detect a crash within 16 milliseconds and should be deployed within 40 milliseconds. • They work along with the seat belt system to protect the occupants in time of a collision. We will be covering how the seat belts work in our future video, stay tuned. • How safe is your car? -    • How safe is your new car? | Skill-Lync   • If you are someone who is really interested in simulation and designing, check out our course on Crashworthiness Analysis using HyperMesh and Radios - https://bit.ly/3ahc2Oo • #skilllync #mechanicalengineers # airbag
