This is the diffraction pattern produced by a new focussing mask for astronomical telescopes. There is software that uses line detecting algorithms to find the optimum focus for a Bahtinov Mask. • This variant produces pairs of intersecting lines that have a much greater relative displacement compared to a Bahtinov mask. This results in greater accuracy. • Optimum focus is reached at the point when the intersection points coincide.
